The Old Waverley Hotel, located on Edinburgh's famous Princes Street, ensures everything is right on your doorstep. Many of the rooms offer stunning views of Edinburgh Castle.
Our hotel is a landmark building in the centre of the city and offers guests the perfect location to explore the many varied attractions which Edinburgh has to offer. Guests will find value for money and the highest standards of customer service. The Hotel now has wifi internet access throughout (own lap top required).
Please note that guest are allowed to use the Leisure centre of a nearby 4 star hotel (10 minute walk away) for £5and £7 per person per day.

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Premium rooms are the largest of the accommodation types within the hotel and have just been fully refurbished to a very high standard. All these rooms have excellent views of Princes Street and Gardens, while most have views of Edinburgh Castle.
Standard rooms offer comfortable surroundings in traditional style with all the modern features you would expect in a city centre 3-star hotel. Please note that these rooms are situated throughout the hotel and not all of them have views. To be guaranteed a view a supplement applies.
Small double (internal with no views) rooms offer comfortable surroundings in traditional style with all the modern features you would expect in a city centre 3-star hotel. As the name suggests, these are small rooms, situated at the back of the hotel and have no views at all.
Twin room en suite. Some twin rooms have Castle view (supplement payable to guarantee).
En suite single room with, equipped with all common facilities.
Double bedded room with en suite facilities. Some double rooms have a Castle view (supplement payable to guarantee).
Our triple rooms are located at the rear of the hotel and offer a quiet and relaxing stay for any family.

Double room with 1 Grand Lit All small double rooms are internal rooms and offer no views. Although small they were fully refurbished in May 2006 and are equipped with all common facilities.
Bar lunches are available in the hotel lounge from 11am each day. In the evening, Cranstons Restaurant offers fine dining in stunning surroundings. Enjoy our varied menu while admiring the stunning castle views! Dinner is served from 6.30pm until 9.30pm each evening. Reception will be happy to make a reservation.
From the M6:
- Continue onto the A74(M) exiting at junction 13 onto the A702 which eventually leads right into Edinburgh.
- Once in the city, follow signs for Edinburgh Waverley train station. The hotel is almost opposite the Princes Street exit.
From the A1:
- Follow the A1(M) for Edinburgh.
- Follow signs for city centre and then Waverley train station. The hotel is almost opposite the Prices Street exit.
The hotel has no car parking of it own, though guests of the hotel receive a 20% discount on parking at the nearby Greenside Place NCP on Leith Street (just of the East End of Princes Street). Please bring the ticket you get from the car park to the hotel reception to get this discount.
